MISSION STATEMENT

 

The Saint James Missionary Baptist Church Marriage Ministry is committed to bringing married couples to a closer and more intimate relationship with God and their partner by providing tools to enrich marriage through education; activities to promote communication and intimacy; and Biblical understanding of the precepts of marriage so that God can be glorified in our marriages.

 

VISION STATEMENT

 

To enhance the relationship of couples through Christian fellowship by participation in various outings, meetings, social events and learning lessons to strengthen marriages from God’s Word

 

The St. James Marriage Ministry seeks to develop and enable couples in and through their marriages to grow into complete followers of Christ by following the Biblical teachings regarding marriage, worshipping and fellowshipping with other Christian couples. The Ministry also seeks to develop strong Christian individuals committed to Christ and their marriages and through this Ministry bringing other couples to Christ.

 

 

GOALS/LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

 

1. To understand the factors that contribute to the stability of romance and healthy relationships for married Christian men and women.

2. To understand how to enhance romance and intimacy in a Christian marriage.

3. To understand what it means to submit to your husband and for the husband to treat the wife as he would the church.

4. To understand how past experiences directly relate to present marital happiness, problems and stability.

5. To understand how to effectively listen and communicate with one’s spouse.

6. To understand how to forgive and reconcile in accordance with the word of God.
